Charfields property guide

Guide to Chartfields

If you’re looking to move out of a busy town centre environment, but relocating to an out-of-the-way rural area doesn’t quite appeal, then it might be well worth looking for a property to buy or rent in Chartfields. This popular development of executive detached homes and modern apartments is surrounded by stunning views of fields, scattered copses and woodland, and backs onto the picturesque grazing lands of Shadoxhurst.

The area is incredibly prestigious, situated between Singleton and Knights Park, and all the amenities they have to offer, and real estate here is in high demand. It is Chartfields’ well-kept and pretty neighbourhood that makes it incredibly appealing to families. The development has its own park and play area to enjoy, as well as linking to great walkways and footpaths, ideal for quiet strolls, dog walks, an early morning jog, or for cycling.

Chartfields is located not far from the A28 between Ashford and Tenterden, giving residents easy access to all of the amenities both towns have to offer, including restaurants and bars, cinemas, supermarkets and leisure facilities. There’s a good, regular bus service in the area too, so for those who want to commute for work or study from the International Station, but don’t want to run a car, the surrounding areas are very easily accessible.

Part of Chartfield’s popularity with homebuyers is that it is a lovely place to raise a family, with its quiet cul-de-sacs and roads, and warm, friendly community spirit. If you’re looking to move into the area with children, it’s worth knowing that Chartfields is home to an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ school; John Wesley Primary School. With only 150 pupils on roll, John Wesley prides itself on having a strong and warm family feel, and strives to instill a sense of belonging in all pupils.

Speaking of schools, renting or buying a property in Chartfields means being spoiled for choice when it comes to secondary education as well. The suburb falls in the catchment area for Homewood School and Sixth Form Centre in Tenterden, a school steeped in history and home of the The Sinden Theatre, a school farm, and a huge range of sports facilities. The school offers a diverse curriculum and has a strong track record of academic success at GCSE and Sixth Form. Thanks to the excellent bus service in the Chartfields area, all of Ashford’s secondary schools are also easily accessible, including the Norton Knatchbull School and Highworth Grammar School.
