The village is abundantly rich in history, reflected in its papermill and church, which survived being bombed in World War 2. Little Chart is made up of two areas; Little Chart Forstal and Rooting street, with the former being better known in part due to it being the home of Little Chart Cricket Club.
If spectacular views and walking routes are what you’re looking for then Little Chart could be the perfect place to put down roots. The village is crossed by two paths; Stour Valley Walk and Greensands Way, so there are ample opportunities to indulge in quiet relaxation alone, as a family or with the dogs. Cycling, running and horse riding are also popular pastimes with residents and visitors here.
Little Chart has its own public house, The Swan Inn, which forms an integral part of village life. The historic late 15th century building still boasts the original coaching stables and features charming internal beams and rustic open fires. With a pretty riverside garden and a menu offering traditional English cuisine made using the finest local ingredients, The Swan is a family-run pub that offers a welcome respite for passing cyclists and recreational drivers, and is the perfect place for a family meal or a quiet evening drink.
